WD40 Bike Dry Lube review

WD40 Bike Dry Lube goes on easily, works well to keep chains running smoothly without caking them in dust and grit, and can even withstand the occasional puddle or shower. It doesn't build up over time the way wax lubes can either. The nozzle can get a bit overenthusiastic, however, and there are cheaper options.

ProGold ProLink Chain Lube review

ProgGold ProLink Chain Lube is a thin lubricant that creates a smooth-running, clean chain in a range of conditions, creates minimal build up over multiple applications and lasts pretty well. It's very a thin liquid, however, so requires careful handling.

ProtoBrand ProtoTape Enduro Kit review

The ProtoTape Enduro Kit is a fairly thick frame-protecting tape pre-cut into an array of generic frame shapes. While an effective protector once in place on gentle curves, the textured finish holds mud, it's not easy to apply, and it tends to peel off sharp edges and angles. It's also expensive.

Morvelo Back Country Overland Long Sleeve Shirt review

The Back Country Overland Long Sleeve Shirt from Morvelo is a very casual riding top that fits well, looks good and hides some useful technical features for actual riding. The breathable, windproof, four-way stretch fabric means it's just as comfy on the ride to the pub (or the lumbermill?) as it is when you get there.

7Mesh Glidepath Short review

Hailed by 7Mesh as its flagship trail short, the Glidepath is a superbly-made baggy, non-padded short that could easily become your go-to pair – unless it’s very wet. The fit is excellent, they have decent pockets and armour fits well underneath. I couldn't find much wrong with them.

Giro Fixture MIPS Helmet review

The Giro Fixture MIPS is a great value, well-fitting and sharp-looking trail lid. With a ton of colour options and the MIPS cradle for added protection, there's little reason not to put this at the top of your list – though it’s a shame the shell doesn’t wrap the inner foam fully, as it's vulnerable to knocks at the edges.

CamelBak H.A.W.G LR 20L Hydration Pack review

The Camelbak H.A.W.G (Holds Alotta Water and Gear) LR is very well-named thanks to its three-litre reservoir and 17L of storage. This Low Rider version positions cargo further down on the hips for a low centre of gravity and works well on long rides, but it's heavy even unladen and the reservoir could do with some tweaks.

O'Neal Pike 2.0 helmet review

O'Neal's Pike 2.0 is an updated version of its enduro / trail helmet, and features its IPX ACells tech for dampening harmful rotational forces during impacts. It has good ventilation and coverage, coupled with a tough feel and some handy detailing. It's a well thought-out and comfortable lid, though it's fairly chunky and the chinstrap could do with refining.

Osprey Escapist 18 pack review

The Osprey Escapist is a good multi-sport pack with a significant focus on bike use It's great for singletrack raids or commuting, and offers plenty of space for longer days too – though the build could be a little tougher in places.

ODI SDG Lock-On Grips review

These medium-to-thin grips combine ODI's lock-on base with a grip from rival company SDG. The result offers reliable traction for your hands, though that SDG rubber wears pretty quickly and they're unnecessarily fiddly to fit.
