Rugged riding in the Welsh Valleys, with big climbs rewarded by big descents

Combining the red-graded White's Level and Y Wall trails together into a monster loop thanks to some purpose-made linking sections, W2 provides plenty of challenge thanks to the distance, climbing and technical riding on offer.

It's possible to start this big loop from either of the centres, which also means you've got a lunch stop halfway around, unlike the other big Skyline loop here. You can also drop in at Afan Bike Park at Bryn Bettws if your legs can stand it, so it's a good route to choose if you're fit, technically confident and fancy a big day on the bike that samples most of Afan's greatest hits.

Be aware it can get pretty wet, windy and wild up on the tops of the hills and there's little shelter once you're up there. However, it does reward all your effort with plenty of top-notch descending and some rocky and occasionally pretty technically tasty sections.
