Focus adds Eagle 70 model to JAM² range

Featuring a sleek hydroformed aluminium frame, the JAM² 6.8 is configured at the intersection of hardcore trail e-bikes and e-enduro lite builds. A 160mm fork is complemented by 150mm of rear suspension, while 29-inch wheels slot into both axles.

- Best e-MTBs 2025 - top-performing e-mountain bikes for every situation
Offering several battery combinations to optimize the riding experience offered by Bosch’s latest Performance Line CX mid-drive motors, versatility, and value are strong product themes with the JAM² 6.8. And product managers at Focus have enhanced the value element with SRAM’s latest mechanical drivetrain.
Real-world usage patterns with 150mm e-bikes, like the JAM² range, are that they ride a lot of mileage in steep terrain, climbing at high-power pedal assistance settings. Riders want a drivetrain and rear mech capable of transmitting high loads and pedal-assisted power outputs smoothly and consistently. Enter SRAM’s new Eagle 70…
Flying the flag for mechanical drivetrains
The Focus solution has been to enhance the JAM² 6.8 with SRAM’s new Eagle 70 transmission. It promises shifting accuracy akin to SRAM’s T-Type wireless drivetrains, but at a much kinder price. For trail e-bike riders, where drivetrain wear and replacement components are a real issue, the presence of Eagle 70 in the JAM² range will be heartening.
The benefits of SRAM’s Eagle 70 for e-bike riders are significant, and it’s obvious why Focus has integrated the new SRAM drivetrain on its JAM² 6.8. The Eagle 70 mechanical derailleurs shift great under power and peak drivetrain loads, and for an e-bike rider, that’s an unquestionable benefit. Especially when using the peak pedal assistance function in steep, technical singletrack climbs.
Like SRAM’s wireless T-Type derailleurs, the SRAM Eagle 70’s promise terrific survivability, even if you go off-piste with your JAM² 6.8, and expose the drivetrain to trailside rock or root impacts. The SRAM 70 derailleur design is rebuildable, meaning a seemingly innocuous rock strike is no longer a wildly expensive and annoying full replacement part.
Beyond the SRAM Eagle 70 drivetrain, the JAM² 6.8 is what you’d expect from the latest generation Focus 150mm e-bikes. The two battery options are 600Wh or 800Wh, and you can extend the range of either by 250Wh, with the plug-in mini-battery.
Tyre specification is notable too. The JAM² 6.8 is fitted with Schwalbe’s latest radial casing tyres, which promise much more trail feedback for riders who want to feel every bit of trail texture and surface conditions through the handlebars. The JAM² 6.8’s Schwalbe radial tyres are 29 x 2.6in Schwalbe Alberts, in the Addix ultra soft (front) and Addix soft (rear) compound.
