Granite's steerer mount Stash Tool System keeps tools handy
The ever-expanding (shrinking?) world of on-bike kit storage has seen a new arrival, with Granite Design's new Stash Tool System that neatly uses your steerer tube to hold a multitool but doesn't require any threads to be tapped, unlike existing systems.

The design uses the upper bit of your steerer tube to house an eight-function multitool, but uses a threaded bar and nut to tension your headset, unlike OneUp's outwardly similar EDC system that requires you to tap a thread into your steerer tube, something that may well invalidate your warranty with many fork manufacturers.
The claimed full system weight is 145g with the tool itself weighing 57g, though the OneUp does stack in a fair few more tools. Granite's system still manages to offer 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm hex head keys, a T25 Torx, a flathead screwdriver and a spoke-key with a valve core remover, plus you can pair it with their separate handlebar-mounted tubeless repair kit and chain tool should you wish.
The system is compatible with tapered and 1.125" straight steerer tubes with a top of stem to bottom of crown measurement from 150mm to 240mm, comes in orange or black and it'll cost $55.
