The Jena is an all new carbon gravel bike from Wiler, designed, they say, to give riders freedom of choice. Freedom to choose the surface to ride on from gravel, to singletrack to bikepacking on tarmac, the Jena is another do-it-all drop bar bike to add to the mix.

The carbon Jena joins the other steel and alloy gravel and bikepacking bikes in the Wilier range, with a starting price of 2,800 Euros. The Jena's 60TON monocoque carbon frame comes in 5 sizes (from XS to XL) with geometry that is very close to one of Wilier's road-racing bikes the Centro1NDR.

The brands say they have slackened the head tube angle slightly (70-72, size dependent) to help ride quality and stability on the more challenging terrain. They also say they have designed the rear triangle with tube profiles and carbon lay-up optimised to absorb inputs generated by trail or road imperfections, whilst maintaining lateral stiffness for efficiency and handling.

The frame and fork allow for larger 44mm tyres on 700c wheels or 48mm diameter tyres on 650B wheels. There is a full complement of eyelets provided on the frame and fork that allow the installation of bottle or cargo holders, bags, racks and mudguards. Elsewhere there are flat mount disc brakes with160 mm diameter disc and there are thru axles fitted front and rear. The front derailleur mount can be removed allowing the bike to be run as a 2x or a 1x set up.

The bikes are available in two colours; grey/blue and blue/red with starting prices at 2,800 Euros for a Shimano 105 equipped model. The range tops out with a 4,800 Euro Ultegra Di2 model. The bike was officially launched in late 2018 but is now available to buy from your local dealer or various online shops.
