WTB now offers 120tpi gravel tyres with all new SG2 puncture protection
WTB says that there have been no compromises in the quest to increase durability while keeping weight to a minimum. With the brands' new 120tpi casing and SG2 puncture protection WTB claim to have done just that.

WTB's new puncture protection is more than merely an extra layer of puncture protection. The new protection is made up of a super-thin nylon insert with bead to bead coverage which gives all surfaces of the tyre extra protection.
These nylon fibres are flat, rather than round, so that they don't need as much rubber to fill in the gaps. Meaning that they're manufactured with less rubber, resulting in a lighter tyre. The lightweight also promises a livelier ride because of the tyres decrease in casing thickness.
The SG2 layer also claims to improve air retention thanks to its tightly woven fibres.
WTB's lab tested say that the new SG2 puncture protection layer provides 33% more sidewall protection and 17% more tread protection than the brands 60tpi offerings. The new protection layer is said to only increase weight by 15-50g, depending on the width of the tyre.
All of the brands existing tyres are still available with the 60tpi casing but the new 120tpi SG2 cased tyres are only available with a black sidewall.
All tyres with the new SG2 puncture protection and 120tpi are available now.
