Press Release from Madison Saracen
Obviously we hoped that you’d have seen this kit flying down a World Cup course by now, but since we’re not there yet - and we still want you to see what we’ve come up with - here’s what Danny Hart and Matt Walker will be riding when this season finally gets underway. It isn’t exactly a ‘normal’ time to launch a new bike and kit, which is why the accompanying video comes with its own serious message about the current crisis.
The Saracen Myst uses the same chassis as last year with a 24T/40T/3K Toray UD carbon fibre frame running a Shimano Saint drivetrain and rolling on DT Swiss wheels. But the main change is the colourway, with red and black being the livery of choice for 2020. We think it looks pretty damn good, and we hope you guys agree.
The other thing you’ll notice about the new bike is that it’s running the brand-new Fox 40 fork and DHX2 shock. The 203mm travel Fox 40 has an updated GRIP2 damper and EVOL air spring on top of an all-new lower leg arch, and promises to be the ultimate in downhill fork tech. Running that in combination with the new DHX2 shock gives Matt and Danny the very best in suspension technology so the boys can focus on the lines they want to ride knowing that the performance will be there to back up their choices.
“While this isn’t where we thought we’d all be right now, we wanted to show you guys our new-look bike and kit, while reminding everyone that we have a responsibility to stay home and stay safe.” Said Will Longden, Madison Saracen Team Manager.
“We hope you like the video, the bike and the kit and we can’t wait to get back to racing when this is all over.”
But to keep you going, check out the video above (with riding that we shot before lockdown started - stay at home like Will says, people). Before you know it you’ll see more riding from Matt and Danny and probably less Chess, although we can’t promise that. Enjoy and hopefully we’ll be able to see you on the trails later this year.
