Marin Gestalt
After reviewing the Marin Gestalt X11, it's now the turn of the base model Gestalt to go through our test process. The cheapest bike in the range keeps the same svelte good looks of its pricier brother but with a very reasonable £750 price tag. We take a look at what you get for your money before heading out and getting it dirty - check that out here.
Giro Privateer Lace shoes
The Privateer race shoes from Giro are a little like their Empire shoes but considerably cheaper. They are a simple lace-up design with chunky tread on the sole which can accommodate toe spikes, pointing towards their cross-country heritage, for £125.
Shimano Technicum sunglasses - TCNM1-MR
These new Shimano glasses have a catchy name, I think you'd agree?! Whatever the name, the off-road specific trail glasses look great and come with a clear interchangeable lens, perfect for most of the year in the UK! These are £70 and will be available to buy form next week.
Dyna Plug Racer - Tubeless Tyre Repair Kit
A neat little tubeless repair kit, the Dyna Plug kit is prepared with two sizes of plug mounted with pointed or rounded tips ready to insert on the trail. The whole thing is less than 4 inches long, circa 85g and small enough to slip into a pocket or frame bag. It's pricey though, £35 gets you 1 - Dynaplug® Racer tool, 3 Regular Plugs (Pointed tip), 2 Megaplugs (Bullet tip) and 2 insertion tubes, then its £8.50 for the refills.
Trek Remedy 7
The Remedy 7 is the cheapest one you can buy at £2,300. For that, you get a 650B trail bike with 150mm of travel at the rear and a 160mm fork up front. It's got Rockshox suspension (Yari fork and Deluxe RL shock), Eagle drivetrain, a dropper post, SRAM Level T brakes, the rest is all Bontrager own kit, including 2.6" XR4 tyres.
