- Lightweight
- Nice and secure
- Side entry great for tight fitting frames
- The body only comes in black if you care about colour matching
Elite's Prism bottle cage is a lightweight and tough cage that's secure enough for off-road use and the side entry design means it works nicely with frames with limited clearance. This glass-fibre reinforced model is well-priced, too.

Weighing just 50g, the Prism cage is nice and light, though you can buy a carbon fibre reinforced option that's claimed to be half the weight but is definitely twice the price. I personally wouldn't bother as this cage does the trick well and it's also very tough.
The side entry system - both left and right-handed cages are available - means it's much easier to get the bottle out on a frame with limited clearance and I also personally find it much more natural and quick to access anyway. It's proved to be nice and secure in use, however, with no bottles falling off despite some rough riding, while long mounting slots mean it's easy enough to get in the right place.
The lower part of the cage is very supportive and the pronounced tab up the front holds your bottle in place, while the flexible arm means it doesn't require much effort to get the bottle when you needed it. I found it worked really well with Elite's own Fly bottle (unsurprisingly) but I didn't have issues with any others I tried.
All in all, this is a great little bottle cage for anyone that might have limited frame access or just wants a decent, lightweight side-entry cage.
