YT bolsters the Uncaged range with the Jeffsy Uncaged 8
After the launch of the CAPRA and DECOY Uncaged 9 models, YT Industries has given the JEFFSY some Uncaged love. The Uncaged 8 model is graced with some cool kit from Cane Creek as well as whizzy wireless shifting. Here are all of the details.
- Best mountain bikes for under £3,000 - capable trail bikes that won't break the bank
- Best MTB's that you can get shipped straight to your door
YT Industries says that their latest Uncaged model offers a mouth-watering spec with ultra-adjustable suspension, all within the renowned trail bike package that is the JEFFSY.
The JEFFSY Uncaged 8 gets draped in a peanut colour but comes dripping in top-end American-made suspension in the form of the Helm MKII fork and Kistuma air shock from Cane Creek. Both of those handle 150mm of suspension both front and rear. Touching back on that shock for a second, it comes with 4-way compression and rebound adjustability offering up a tonne of adjustability without the need to reach for a multitool.
The Helm MKII fork features updated SKF seals, a lighter viscosity damping oil, and a manually balanceable negative air spring. Its travel can then be boosted to 160mm without having to add extra components. It doesn't employ the use of air volume spacers either and all adjustments are easily made, again, without the need for tools.
Shifting is then covered by SRAM's GX AXS Eagle groupset, featuring a 520% range from a 10-52t cassette and of course, posh wireless shifting. In keeping with the theme of 'wirelss' the JEFFSY Uncaged 8 comes with RockShox' Reverb AXS dropper post, resulting in a tidy cockpit.
The bike rolls on a pair of Crankbrothers Systhesis Enduro rims which are laced to Industry Nine 1 to 1 hubs, further waving those stars and stripes. Those wheels are then shod with a Maxxis Minion DHF at the front and a DHR II at the rear and slowing things down is pair of SRAM G2 Ultimate brakes.
YT Industries' JEFFSY Uncaged 8 is priced at £5,500 and is set to weigh 14.5kg.
