One of the trends that wasn't cool until enduro happened was combining goggles with open-face helmets. Fox's idea behind its Purevue eyewear extends those benefits with a more trail-orientated build – it is claimed to be the most breathable and highest-clarity goggles on the market. This comes thanks to the VIVID technology built into the lens to deliver high-contrast vision even when the light is low.
The frame is focused on keeping weight low and maximising ventilation through a special design.
“Like most design briefs at Fox, we approached trail-specific eyewear with a unique perspective that is authentic to our brand. Purevue was born from gravity and a rider’s preference to wear a goggle for additional security and field of view like you find in a full-face helmet, but specifically developed for trail riding experiences, including the functionality of climbing. The increased airflow combined with a seamless fit for an open-face helmet like our Speedframe simply translates to more confidence on the bike,” said Ryan Van Noy, Senior Designer, Performance at Fox Racing.
The Fox Purevue goggles are priced at £110 and, for the money, you get a carrying case, two lenses (one tinted/mirrored and the other clear) and several nose pads to dial in the fit. The price increases to £120 when specced in VIVID tech guise. Spare lenses can be bought separately.
