The Surly100 opens entries to all off-road bike types

Surly is a brand that's renowned for its steel and often unique off-road frames that range such as the Bridge Club and the Grappler. Its UK-based two-day bikepacking event, the Surly100, invites riders of all off-road bike types to tackle 100 miles starting, and finishing at a pub. Here are all of the details.

The Surly100 welcomes those who love riding bikes with a strong sense of adventure as well as a pint or two to ride from Gloucester and back, with the route taking riders far into the depths of the Cotswolds, while avoiding the Royals, and paparazzi – taking a spin past Harry Potter's stomping grounds.
The ride will take place over two days with a camping spot in between, and plenty of pub stops to keep the buzz going. Starting at the Pelican Inn in Gloucester, the first day is set to be the more difficult of the two, loaded with climbs and views.
Both days are divided with a camping spot that's sorted with a well-stocked bar, excellent food, and top-notch campfire banter.
Day two takes riders back to the Pelican Inn but it's promised to be the easier day but includes a special feature - 'The Dunk'. Created in memory of Duncan Kennedy who originally suggested the challenge before his passing in 2024, details remain veiled. However, if one day is plenty, the Surly100 organisers invite riders to chill out at the campsite.
Although there are plenty of pub stops there is a level of self-sufficiency expected of the entrants. Of course, riders will need a bike that's in good working order and a helmet, as well as lights and water but lights, a phone or HPS, and a multi-tool on top of camping gear, among others are all recommended, too.
