Bristol Bikefest is back at Ashton Court on the 30th June 2018
The much-loved Bristol Bikefest mountain bike race is back – with a new format, a new venue and a new sponsor – The Bristol Beer Factory!! The event takes place on the 30th June 2018 but if you want an entry to any of the kids or adult races you'll need to be online at 9am on the 5th April.
The Bike Fest is going to back to basics after 15 years of racing and a year out in 2017, with a fun, friendly event that’s all about great trails, tall beers, tired legs and plenty of smiles. Think of it as a small but perfectly formed festival of mountain biking rather than just a race. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time racer (especially if you’re a first-time racer), it’s a perfect day out on two wheels.
The format of the ‘new’ Bikefest is a one-day event, rather than two, which will take place on Saturday the 30th June 2018. In its return year, the Fest will have a morning full of kids racing followed by a 6-hour solo, pairs and team cross country event around the much loved Ashton Court course. Same as in years gone by the race format is that riders or teams must complete as many laps as possible within the given time, with only one rider on course at any given time. The riders or teams that complete the most laps in the least time win.
The 2018 Bikefest sees the event village move to a new location at Ashton Court,The 2018 Bristol Bikefest event postcode is BS41 9JN.
Also back is the ‘The Steve Worland Ride Singletrack Hard & Drink A Swig of Cider Per Lap Memorial Cup’ in memory of Bristol local, single track extraordinaire and cycling journalist Steve Worland who sadly died in March 2014. All profits from the event will go to the Psoriasis Association Charity.
The playing field for the Bikefest will once again be the single track littered and all-weather course in Ashton Court on the edge of the Bristol city centre. The almost 10km long track will see a few tweaks from the ‘normal’ loop which should make for a great racing course and a fun day out on the bike.
Our new title sponsor – the Bristol Beer Factory – will make sure that the event bar is well stocked with their broad beer offering and that the ‘Cider’ stop is well catered for as well.
