The biggest MTB Party of the year, the GT Bicycles Malverns Classic is nearly here! Kicking off this Friday, the most awesome weekend of all things mountain bike in the stunning Eastnor Deer Park, set In the Malvern Hills.

There is loads going on, here’s what’s not to miss according to the Malverns Classic team: 

There are 5 different races across the weekend kicking off with the Dual Slalom on Friday night, kicking off at 6pm. On the day entries available for the XC, Dual Slalom and the Quad Eliminator.

We are honoured to have Deputy Mayor, Jayne Roberts and Chairman Councillor Nina Shields cutting the tape for us and kicking off the

GY Bicycles Dual Slalom. Watch the riders battle it out elbow to elbow for that top spot in one of the purest forms of MTB racing out there. After the racing is finished it’s over to the bar for live music followed by the resident Malverns Classic DJ. 

Saturday is literally stacked and packed with so much MTB goodness. Catch the Cannondale Cross Country and Funnduro racers pedaling it out all day and tearing up the descents followed by the madness of the Fabric Quad Eliminator that evening.  Straight after the Quad kicks off the TRP Lake ride, watch the riders try and make it across the skinny floats without falling in, make it across and be in for a chance of winning a set of TRP brakes, as used by Aaron Gwin.

Of course Sunday is the day of the Schwalbe Classic DH, this is the big show. The original course as used in the 90’s with an updated DMR Bomhole, keep an eye out for some funky shapes being pulled on here during practice and race runs.

Racing aside, there is so much going on all weekend. There are over 100 different bike brands on site, showcasing their newest gear and products in the expo are, so bring some cash and pick up a bargain and some Malverns Classic Exclusives.

The Malverns Classic Demo Day is going to be Huge, 40 of our favourite brands will have a selection of their bikes with them all available for you to test out on any of our courses. The demo day costs just £5 with all of the proceeds going to #RideForCharlie

The Malverns Classic is all about family fun and getting a new generation of riders into the sport we love so much. Children aged 12 or under go completely free to the festival this year, on site we will also have free trampolines, bouncy castles, and skills areas for the youngsters. Kicking off the DH on the Sunday be sure to see the Spawn Cycles balance bike DH

About the Malverns Classic

The GT Bicycles Malverns Classic Festival returns to Eastnor Deer Park after a 20 year break on the 15th to 17th of June 2018. The weekend promises a packed schedule of challenging and exciting cycling events that will see riders of all ages and abilities race and having fun in a chilled out family atmosphere. 

Eastnor Deer Park is a beautiful venue and as well as taking part in the events and races listed below the organisers of the Malverns Classic encourage you to just go and ride too! All the race courses when not in use for either practice or racing will be open for you to ride, that includes the cross country course, the enduro stages and the dual slalom. For example, the Dual Slalom track will re-open from Saturday morning onwards and will be manned with marshals and medics so you can ride at no additional cost. So, even if you don't fancy making your ride competitive - make sure you bring your bike!

Racing

Take your pick of the events you fancy entering, whether you are a seasoned racer or a newbie first timer to the start gate. Entries are selling fast with the downhill and the enduro already sold out so be quick and enter HERE.

Admission Pricing

Everyone aged 13 or above that is entering the festival will need to purchase an admission ticket by clicking HERE.  All children under 12 who are just spectators go free.

For everyone over 13 its £30 for a whole weekend pass which covers parking, camping and festival admission. If you fancy just going along for one day, it'll be £10 for parking and festival admission.
