The Fathom E+ and Lurra E+ enhance Giant/Liv’s hardtail e-bike range

The redesigned Fathom E+ range brings versatile hardtail riding and commuting to the market with the SyncDrive Sport 2 mid-drive motor.
Drawing power from a 625Wh battery pack, the Fathom E’s pedal-assist motor can amplify rider inputs by 400%. Need more range? There’s a 250Wh EnergyPak Plus plug-in power extender available, too.
Intuitive pedal assistance
The new Giant Fathom E+ uses a SyncDrive Sport 2 mid-drive motor with six sensors to adjust to your riding needs and terrain gradient with smooth pedal assistance, delivering a natural riding feel. As a new-generation e-bike motor, the SyncDrive Sport 2 resists the lurching and pedal assistance spikes of first-generation e-bikes.
Fathom E+’s RideControl module has an integrated colour display, allowing riders to monitor battery levels, support mode status, and range. In addition to those readouts, the RideControl screen also relays fundamental riding data like speed and distance.
Shaped for all-terrain trail riding, Giant’s Fathom E+ features a 130mm coil-sprung fork and rolls 29-inch wheels. There’s no 27.5-inch rear wheel option, even on the smallest frame size. Geometry reference points are a 66-degree head angle, 451mm of reach on a size large and 165mm length cranks on all sizes of the Fathom E+, from small to XXL.
The same geometry, wheel size, and suspension components feature on the Fathom E+ EX derivatives, which are touring and commuter-equipped versions of Giant’s latest hardtail e-bike.
The E+ EX series lighting keeps you visible during dawn and dusk, and there is a top tube tool mount for DIY quick -fixes on your commute. Fenders and a rear carrier mount make it configured for fowl weather active commuting.
The Liv option
Need the same value hardtail e-bike concept with women’s specific geometry? Liv’s Lurra E+ features a more compact package with the same 130mm fork, SyncDrive Sport 2 mid-drive motor and RideControl tech. The same commuter and touring-ready EX builds are also available with the Lurra E+.
Liv’s Lurra E+ range features the same head angle as Fathom E+ but with trimmed reach numbers: a large Lurra E+ measures 415mm of reach, 36mm shorter than a size large Fathom E+.
Product people at Liv are ardent believers in women’s specific geometry, and it’s the case with these new Lurra E+ e-bikes, even down to wheel size. The extra-small and small Lurra E+ bikes roll 27.5-inch rear wheels, unlike the Fathom E+ range, which is entirely 29-inch front and rear.
All Giant Fathom E+ and Lurra E+ e-bikes feature dropper seatposts and roll 25mm internal diameter alloy wheels, shod with Maxxis Rekon 29 x 2.4in wire bead tyres.
