Goodyear unveils a Wrangler tyre for enduro and e-mountain bikers
Goodyear has brought an all-new mountain bike tyre to the range, catering for mid- to long-travel bikes. However, coming in an enduro and a brand new ElectricDrive construction, it looks set to please heavy-hitting riders whether you're assisted or not. Read on for more details.

Accompanying the Newton tyres in Goodyear's gravity range, the Wrangler is designed to excel in dry, rocky and intermediate terrain. Although it comes in an enduro casing for non-assisted bikes, what's very interesting is the brand's new ElectricDrive construction that's said to provide more support and protection while balancing grip and battery life.
Like the Newton, the Wrangler comes in two tread patterns, both of which are inspired by motocross. There's the Wrangler MTF, geared towards front-wheel use and shaped for grip and steering performance, while the MTR is built to improve rolling speed and cope with acceleration forces.
Both the MTF and MTR tyres get specific carcass constructions, too. So the ElectricDrive build, designed for e-MTBs is designed to be strong with plenty of support but there's also a butyl layer that extends up the sidewall for a boost in durability. It also exceeds ECE-R75 requirements.
The ElectricDrive Wrangler MTF uses Goodyear's Dynamic:Grip3S rubber compound to provide the most grip whereas the MTR gets a slightly harder Dynamic:Grip3 compound that's a little more durable but is supposed to perform under braking and while cornering. The Enduro tyres both get the Dynamic:Grip3 rubber.
