Built on the foundation of Fizik's esteemed short-nosed Argo racing saddle, the Argo X introduces some new features optimised for off-road racing. The wide, short-nosed structure, characteristic of the Argo design, claims comfort even in the most aggressive riding positions.
The low-profile design employs rounded contours, which should assist in smooth leg movement and ease of adjusting position without snagging.
The Argo X also features an improved, ergonomic cut-out. The design is specifically crafted to relieve pressure on sensitive areas during long gravel races and there is an integrated rubber layer at the bottom of the cut-out acting as a mud flap.
The Argo X is available in two models. The X3 is the top model with a compliant fibre-reinforced nylon shell and Kium rail, while the more affordable X5 comes with an S-Alloy rail. The X3 tips the scales at 231g and the X5 at 240g. Both are available in 140mm and 150mm widths and retail for £145 and £100 respectively.
We've got the X3 model in for testing, and you can check back for the full review of that in a few days' time.
