Ere Research’s Tenaci GT25 wheelset is designed for all roads

Developed as a robust multi-purpose drop bar rider’s wheel, the Tenaci GT25 features a rim shape optimised for several tyre sizes and pressure bandwidths. Whereas the Tenaci GT40 has a dedicated aero profile, the Ere Research product team wanted to create something more versatile with the Tenaci GT25.

These new wheels are marketed as performance gravel and all-road options, with a clever rim shape enabling a great diversity of tyres. Tenaci GT25’s rims measure to a 25mm wide internal diameter and 25mm depth. This creates a profile that isn’t too susceptible to wind shear but does retain credible aero properties and is wide enough to optimise inflation shape on large-volume gravel tyres.
Ere Research’s designers chose a mini-hook rim design for the Tenaci GT25. Benefits? Less home mechanic annoyance when running different tyres and the potential for a very versatile wheelset, configured for adventure gravel and performance road riding. For riders seeking a gravel wheelset that can run performance road bike rubber for active commuting and occasional sportive, tyres, the Tenaci GT25 is an interesting option.
The GT25’s seat hookless gravel tyres and the latest larger volume road tyres (700 x 32c) with ease. Riders can run big gravel tyres, like 700 x 47c, at lower pressures for enhanced ride comfort and traction on corrugated gravel adventure routes, or road tyres when required, at higher pressures. Ere Research says the GT25s can run gravel tyres up to 54mm wide.
Spinning the Tenaci GT25s are custom bearings, with the rear hub featuring a 36t star ratchet freebub body – a design with proven durability and ease of servicing. The Iona S hubs only take centre lock brakes and are axle-sized 100x12mm up front and 142x12mm at the rear. Drivetrain combability? Tenaci’s GT25 Iona S rear hubs can be configured for Shimano HG, Shimano Micro Spline, Campagnolo Ekar, and Sram’s XDR.
The Tenaci GT25s are 1,560g and Ere Research has cleared its newest wheelset for a maximum rider weight of 130kg (286lb). Pricing is €999 and Ere Research commits to a lifetime warranty and crash replacement program, for Tenaci GT25 riders.
