Crankbrothers updates the composite Stamp 1 pedal
Crankbrothers has gone back to the drawing board and revamped the Stamp 1 flat pedal, giving it a composite body with more pins and a better concave design to improve grip. Here's everything you need to know about the brand's new entrant in the best mountain bike pedals category.

The Stamp 1 uses a similar silhouette that's found across the Crankbrothers range. And as before, there are two sizes on offer to suit small and large feet. The small pedal measures in at 100 x 100mm while the large comes in at 114 x 111mm. Crankbrothers has taken this direction as this spread offers the most support and grip to the correct shoe size. It also minimises unnecessary weight.
The platform benefits from a minimum profile and maximised concave design. That means that at the fore and aft edges, the pedal is 15.5mm thick while the centre measures 13.5mm. Grip comes in the form of 10 replaceable pins per side.
While the Stamp 1 comes in as a more budget friendly pedal in the brand's range, it gets premium hardware, including Igus bearings both in and outboard of the pedal. There's also a seal system to keep water and dirt well away from those bearings – and a chromoly steel spindle.
The new Crankbrothers Stamp 1 is available for £60 and in four colours. They're also covered by a five-year warranty.
