The smorgasbord of cool things for this week takes a rather gravelly turn but there's still a dashing of mountain bike kit to keep everyone happy. We've got some apparel from Fasthouse, brand spanking fresh shoes from Fizik and a sub £2k gravel rig from Forme among many others, get stuck in.
Fasthouse Alloy Stripe LS Jersey and Classic Cartel SS Jersey
£50 - £65
Let's start off with some of the Fasthouse kit we've had sent in. The Classic Cartel SS jersey is the short sleeve offering that gets a FastDri fabric that is designed to quickly wick moisture away from the body. The stretch collared jersey comes sorted with a zipped pocket to stash valuables and there are mesh vented underarms to keep things extra cool.
The Alloy Stripe LS jersey gets many of the same features as its short-sleeved counterpart but gets mesh venting at the back and the wrists.
Fi'zi:k Terra Atlas shoe
Fizik hails the Terra Atlas as the one shoe to cover all kinds of off-road riding, be is gravel or even all-mountain. It benefits from the brand's X5 nylon shank for efficiency and there's a pair of studs at the toe for extra grip off of the bike. Closing up the shoe is a BOA dial and there's a TPU overlay, offering a bit of protection.
Forme Monsal 1
A couple of weeks ago it was the £6,700 1816 Cycles L'enfer Du Nord but this week, we're bringing things back down to earth with Forme's Monsal 1. At just £1,680 it tops the brand's curly bar range but for the money, it rocks an alloy frame with a full carbon fork. There's then a SRAM Apex 1 groupset with hydraulic brakes and 700x45c tyres. Forme says that the Monsal is a bike that's designed to get people exploring the masses of off-road riding on offer while being as fast as a road bike but as durable as an off-roader.
e*thirteen Quick Fill Plasma Valve
25.16 euro (~£20)
e*thirteen has entered the clog-free, high airflow valve game with the Quick Fill Plasma Valves. While using a very familiar Presta valve it makes a departure from conventional valves as it can be unscrewed to reveal an open hole that's designed to allow loads of sealant through without clogging the Presta part of the valve. With valves such as 76 Project's HI FLOW 'no clog' valves reviewing with a perfect score, we're very interested to see how e*thirteen's offering stacks up.
Syncros IS Coupe Cage CO2
The Syncros IS Coupe Cage CO2 is the brand's solution to integrated storage with this particular model being focussed towards road and gravel riding. The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed the 10 piece multitool hidden neatly at the base of the bottle cage, and of course there's a mount for a 16g CO2 cartridge, included in the pack. Rather handily, there's a CO2 inflator all within that asking price.
