Sonder updates the Camino - Award winning gravel bike gets refreshed for 2022
Sonder has given the much-loved Camino a refresh for 2022. This revamped model sees in a number of geometry tweaks along with a range of new frame features that the brand says make the bike faster, more stable, and more agile, claiming that even classics can be improved.
- The best gravel and adventure bikes you can buy for under £2,000
- The widest gravel bike handlebars you can buy: broad bars for bikepackers
- Big Read: Can you spend a night in the hills and still make it into work on time?
The most notable change that the new Camino benefits from is that its head angle has been slackened by a whole two degrees. This rather drastic shift has been made to stretch the bike's wheelbase with the aim of making it more capable over techy sections, and more stable at slow speeds. It also reduces toe overlap by shifting the front wheel further forwards.
Along with the slacker head angle, the bike sees in larger jumps in its reach measurement between sizes, meaning that all bikes are optimised for use with 50mm to 80mm stems, offering responsive steering.
The new bike comes sorted with internal routing for a dropper post and it's specced with SRAM's Rival XPLR groupset.
Sonder Camino bikes are available at all Alpkit stores with prices starting at £900 for the AL model and the Camino Ti starts at £2,000.
