Focus's JAM² e-MTB gains slicker looks and more battery options
The German brand’s JAM² retains its 160mm fork and 150mm frame travel ratings for the 2025m model year but there have been some styling refinements to the front end.

With the latest JAM² range, Focus designers wanted to create hydroformed and welded frames resembling carbon. The result? A slick headtube junction, where the weld seams are finished in a way that makes them nearly indistinguishable from carbon.
Beyond the refined alloy look, the JAM² remains a bike built for the committed trail rider or someone seeking a light-enduro e-bike.
Geometry specifications are biased to descending but milder than before, with all versions featuring a 65-degree head angle and reasonably spacious reach numbers. The size large JAM², for reference, has a 480mm reach.
Providing pedal assistance for the 2025 JAM² range is Bosch’s latest Performance Line CX mid-drive motors. Several battery options allow riders to prioritise lightweighting or range for their specific e-biking needs, with the previous JAM²’s 750Wh battery replaced by two new primary power options.
The default battery build for these new JAM² e-bikes is a 600Wh unit. Riders can also opt for a larger 800Wh battery, useful for those big enduro riding days when the e-bike effectively becomes an independent shuttle vehicle. Need even more range? Focus offers a 250Wh range extender compact battery, linking to a frame plug-in port.
Component specifications for the new JAM² e-bikes don’t compromise on braking power, with all derivatives featuring four-piston brakes and 200mm rotors, at both wheels. All versions feature 29-inch alloy rims, too, rolling wide 2.6in casing Schwalbe Albert Trail tyres
Cockpit geometry favours the wider approach for extended leverage and steering control on technical descents; hence, the JAM² range features 800mm standard-sized handlebars. Interestingly, the handlebar bar width is 20mm narrower than the previous JAM².
Dropper seatposts are size proportional to the frame, ranging from 150- to 210mm, while all JAM² versions spin short 165mm crank arms for enhanced ground clearance, helping to avoid terrain strikes when climbing or descending.
What does the latest Focus JAM² e-bike weigh? The reference on-trial weight for this new alloy e-bike is 53.5lb (24.3kg).
