Buyer's guide to mountain bike pedals - what's best, flats or clips?
The launch of the new Stamp Street Fabio comes as part of Crankbrothers' mission to improve every rider's experience as it fills a hole in the range for a more casual design, ideal for light mountain bike and street riding.
As a Stamp shoe, it gets the brand's Match technology to offer grippy and secure connection to flat pedals and it gets what Crankbrothers calls a bootie construction in a bid to boost comfort over long rides. The tread pattern features tighter spaced lugs to help riders adjust their feet on the pedals. Then further boosting grip, the shoes use a MC2 high-friction compound for both enhanced grip and durability.
Unlike the more mountain-bike-focused shoes in the range, the Stamp Street Fabio gets a more flexible mid-sole to allow the foot to wrap around the pedal. That midsole is cushioned, too, to add a bit of impact protection.
The upper comes with a handy elasticated lace lock and there are tongue and heel pulls. What street riders will find extra useful is that the inner panel is reinforced to help fend off any damag caused by crank arms. For ventilation, there are perforations dotted around the shoe.
The brand new Crankbrothers Stamp Street Fabio will set you back £125.
