Trickstuff needs no introduction. Better known for the highest of high-end brake brands, Trickstuff delivers serious build quality and performance. To celebrate winter, the brand has brought a limited-edition colourway to its Direttissima brake.

The Direttissima is set to be Trickstuff's most potent brake and, to achieve its power, the brand has focussed on system stiffness while minimising friction. There's a 9mm internal piston that pumps oil to four pistons in the caliper, two of which measure 14mm and the other two 17mm.
That's actuated with a progressive toggle joint linkage, which adds progressive braking power the further the brake lever is pulled. Making for a direct brake feel is a pressure-resistance Kevlar hose. The rest of the brake is milled from 7075 aluminium, boosting stiffness and resulting in a direct bite point.
Inside, the pump piston is made from plastic to reduce friction and the caliper uses stainless steel pistons. There are also bearings at the levers for a smooth feel.
The Direttissima is built with a short piston rollback. With that, Trickstuff promises a consistent bike point, while the tight manufacturing tolerances keep the pistons returning evenly.
Now, the Direttissima is a brake that's been around for a while but it's only available in two colours, all silver or silver, with black covers and levers. The brand is now offering its flagship brake set in Arctic Blue with a blue reservoir cap and a full blue caliper.
We don't have an exact price on the Artic Blue Direttissima but we can expect a set to cost £1,100.
