Entries open with new sponsor for Yorkshire True Grit
Yorkshire True Grit, established in 2016 is a multi-distance off-road ride, with the longest route taking in 60 miles and around 2,200m of climbing. Created by Andrew Wright of Bikewright, the event is back again for 2018 on the 23rd and 24th June and they have a brand new sponsor in clothing brand Aussie Grit Apparel to add to the already rather prestigious list.
Event Details
Yorkshire True Grit is described as the ultimate off-road cycling adventure, a challenge that will take you across the stunning North York Moors using a combination of public bridleways and private tracks. Our Jon went along last year and popped his gravel bike race cherry (amongst other things), you can read all about how he got on here.
This year the event will be held over a weekend: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2018 and as we have said there are a number of different routes to choose from - The Stampede (c20miles), The Drive (c40 miles) or The Outlaw (c60 miles).
The Outlaw and The Drive will take place on Saturday 23rd June whilst The Stampede will take place on Sunday 24th June - the perfect leg loosener after a big day, or a challenge in itself!
The event starts and finish at the fantastic High Paradise Farm on the edge of the Cleveland Way near Boltby. The route will take you across the North York Moors using a mix of gravel trails and singletrack – in a true test of endurance and adventure.
The Entry Fee is £39.00 for the Outlaw or the Drive; and £20 for the Stampede. Enter the Outlaw or the Drive and do the Stampede for just £10!
For all of the detailed event information, go to the event website here where you will find the schedules for both days and a comprehensive 'must carry' kit list.
Sponsors
Joining current sponsors of Lauf Cycling, Fenwick’s Bike Cleaner and Bikewright (Easingwold) for 2018 is Aussie Grit Apparel. Aussie Grit Apparel is an Australian start-up spearheaded by former Formula One driver Mark Webber, who the company say is passionate about the benefits of training and being in the great outdoors and being ‘connected to nature.’ The apparel is designed with a simple goal - to create truly functional off-road cycling and trail running gear for men and women.
The brand will be supporting Yorkshire True Grit with lots of cool prizes for the event. Here at off.road.cc we've got both men's and women's kit in for test so will be giving the shorts and jerseys a thorough once over and will report back soon.
