Welsh Gravity Enduro Series Entries Now Open
The enduro race season is almost upon us and we reckon the guys over at the Welsh Gravity Enduro Series have the best race format if you are thinking of giving racing a go for the first time. Entries are now open for the 2018 series of five races, we're in, are you?
The mash-up race format of the Welsh Gravity Enduro Series runs as follows, you've got 5 hours to ride each race stage as many times as you like, you get timed on each run and your best time counts. Sounds good? Well, it gets better, no specific times to race each stage means you can ride all day with your mates and choose which order you ride the stages in. That crash on your race stage will seem insignificant, simply ride up and ride the stage again, the only thing stopping you will be your legs!
There are five rounds in the series based in, you might have already guessed, Wales:
Round 1 4th March Afan
Round 2 17th March BPW (Saturday) Mini Enduro/WGES
Round 3 20th May Afan Bike Park/Bryn Bettws Lodge
Round 4 9th September Eastridge*
Round 5 28th October Cwmcarn
*yep, we know that's not technically Wales but the riding there is first class!
All rounds count and the series final is compulsory to get an overall position. Entries are £45.50 + £1 admin fee per round or you can enter all 5 rounds for £229 saving £6 in admin fees. There are a shed load of sponsors providing the goodies, should you be fast enough to stand on the steps come the end of the day and with the races based at trail centres you can be guaranteed of some tasty fodder.
