'Ard Rock Enduro Festival cancelled in 2020
News has just been released on the 'Ard Rock Instagram page that the 2020 edition of the enduro festival will be cancelled. The global Coronavirus pandemic has meant it has been impossible for the organisers to plan and carry out the event in such uncertain times.

This news comes after the festival site was hit by flash floods in the August of 2019, being called off just days before the riders and racers were due to arrive. Our hearts go out to the event organisers and staff, cancelling the even for the second year must be truly heartbreaking. The organisers say in their post "It should go without saying that the safety of our competitors, visitors and equally that of the local residents in the surrounding area of Ard Rock Festival are the number one priority. We are at the mercy of this situation and thank you all for your understanding and ongoing support"
Running large events like these is a monumental effort without a global crisis to deal with. As well as the potential complications of enforcing social distancing, it will, no doubt, have been hard to lay down the building blocks of the planning and logistics over the last few months. Things such as generators, stages and toilets all need to be paid for and in uncertain times this may have been impossible or risky in terms of expenditure. 'Ard Rock dates for 2021 are the 6-8th August and no doubt there will many happy attendees and a huge party! Read the full Instagram post below and the statement on their website here.
