This week we've got a new Kinesis Tripster with a new fork and a paint fade for all our gravel adventures. Editor, Jon has also kitted out his monster mobile with a bike rack, on said rack will likely sit his long term test bike, a Mondraker Foxy complete with new Hunt Endurowide wheels. There's other stuff too, such as a divisive gravel bike from Pinarello in the form of the Grevil, Cush Core for XC bikes and tasty snacks, dig in....
Kinesis Tripster AT complete bike
Kinesis' Tripster AT has been something of a UK gravel, adventure and bikepacking stalwart cine it was launched, with a versatile aluminium frame and geometry that allows it to turn its hand to almost anything. This updated version now comes with a rake-adjustable Columbus fork as well as a fully-built option. road.cc tested a Tripster AT frameset a while back so now its time for a full bike test - watch this space.
Hunt Endurowide 27.5" mountain bike wheels
Hunt is well known for their high-value wheelsets and this aluminium rimmed set are, as the name suggests, meant for the rough and tumble world of enduro. That means you get a tubeless ready 33mm internal width rim paired to hubs with quality EZO bearings.
The front gets 32 spokes while the rear gets 36 for increased resistance to any back wheel loving you give the bike. There's also a pretty rapid 4.3degree pickup ratchet and you can run both Shimano HG and SRAM XD driver bodies, with 27.5" and 29" hoops available.
Peruzzo Brennero 4x4 two-bike rack
Our Jon has got himself a silly vehicle and found his choice of bike racks fairly limited, what with the spare tyre hanging off the back and all. After a search, he found this item from Peruzzo fits the bill perfectly.
It straps onto your spare tyre - whether that's hung off the back of a 4x4 or a camper - and can take a pair of bikes on the back, with the ability to fold up to save space when not in use. It can also be adapted to carry skis or a snowboard, which is probably where the silly car would be more useful in the first place.
CushCore XC tyre inserts (29er)
Tyre inserts are very much de-rigeur for enduro at the moment and CushCore claims to have some impressive data for how much less force their designs transmit to the rider as well as protecting your wheels and helping to stabilise your tyres. This new version is now much lighter and as the name suggests, it's made for cross-country types, with extra cutouts to reduce weight. Included in the price are a pair of inserts and a pair of special tubeless valves designed to work with them.
Pinarello Grevil Ultegra
We told you all about the new Pinarello Grevil+ on its release back in October last year, we've now got our hands on one to test. The new gravel bike come with a full carbon frame and can fit 700c or 650b wheels with correspondingly fat rubber and are designed to be able to take everything from tarmac to dirt in their stride. There's a full first look here if you'd like the full low down on this new bike.
