Last week's 5 cool things came in a little late, so this week you're treated to a double header. As a bit of a continuation, we've got even more tools that hide within your bike, some lights prime for the closing nights along with some apparel and pads. Get stuck in.
Troy Lee Designs Lilium shorts
The Lilium shorts are made especially for those who are looking for all-day comfort in the saddle. It comes built with a performance cut and four-way stretch fabric along with a comfort waist system.
On this short, you'll find three zipped pockets, laser perforated zones for venting and a phone-specific pocket.
Amplifi MKX Knee pads
A few weeks ago we had Amplifi's Havok Zip Knee Guards in for review, now we've got the MKX Knee's in for testing. These are made around a low profile sleeve and with Amplifi's MKX armour with a special knee disc keeping them knees safe. They're promised to be as flexible as they are cool.
Ride Concepts Women's Hellion
Ride Concepts' Hellion shoes come with an emphasis on protection durability and awesomeness. As expected from a Ride Concepts shoe, the Hellions get a D3O high impact insole and Rubber Kinetics DST 6.0 HIGH GRIP outsole. What's great to see is a fully gusseted tongue to keep dirt out of the shoe and there's anti-abrasion heel and toe protection.
Granite Designs Stash Tubeless Repair Kit
Joining the Stash Chain Tool that we had in the last edition of 5 Cool Things is the Stash Tubeless repair kit that fits into one end of your handlebar. In it, you get everything you need to repair punctures on a tubeless tyre and it comes with two sizes of bung, meaning you can fit it into bars with an internal diameter of up to 21mm. There are also two sizes of end cap to suit the diameter of your bar.
Cateye Volt 1700 light
Finishing up this week's 5 Cool Things is the Cateye Volt 1700 light. As you may have guessed, it kicked out 1700 lumens but making things that bit easier is the low battery indicator, super-wide beam, tool-free cartridge battery and the FlexTight bracket.
That wide beam makes use of OptiCube Lens Tech and the light promises up to 150h burn time with a minimum of a 5hr charging time.
