Michelin bolsters range with E-Wild e-MTB-specific tyres
Electric mountain bikes have slightly different demands for components than analogue bikes, and Michelin has recognised that with the E-Wild Racing Line range of electric mountain bike tyres. Inspired by Michelin's Enduro range, the E-Wild Racing Line Rear tyre offers maximum traction for climbing with an asymmetric knob placement and puncture protection, specifically designed for e-MTBs. The front tyre, on the other hand, should aid confidence at high speeds with a grip-focused tread pattern. Both feature Michelin's Magi-X compound and are available in various sizes, with prices ranging from £80 to £90.
How to maintain disc brakes - everything you need to know
Disc brakes are unrivalled in their stopping power but, at the same time, they can be a nuisance to maintain. Squealing, rubbing, pads not biting onto the rotor; the list goes on. And don't forget the bleeding process either. We've got you covered, as we've put together all the secrets to the sharpest-feeling hydraulic brakes.
Why the YT Capra Core 5 enduro bike is our new object of desire
The YT Industries Capra Core 5 is not the latest Uncaged release but rather a new high-end spec model of the Capra that sits in the brand's Core range. It has top-tier components such as Öhlins suspension, SRAM XO Eagle Transmission drivetrain and Code RSC brakes. Available in full 29-inch or mixed wheel sizes, it boasts 165mm or 170mm of rear wheel travel, respectively. Priced at £6,000, the Capra Core 5 is designed for top-enduro MTB performance.
Lazer unveils new Lupo and Finch helmets
Lazer has introduced two new helmets, Lupo for adults and Finch for kids, featuring KinetiCore rotational-impact protection at an affordable price. Both helmets boast a five-star protection rating awarded by Virginia Tech, integrated visors, brow vents, deep side coverage and the TurnSys fit system. The Lupo is priced at £60 and includes additional features like compatibility with the Lazer Universal LED and Winter Kit, making it suitable for year-round use. The Finch, designed for smaller heads, is priced at £50.
OneUp Components lifts the lid on V3 Dropper Post
OneUp Components has unveiled a new V3 Dropper Post, claiming it to be the lightest on the market with its 460g weight (for a 180mm dropper) – mainly thanks to the new hydraulic cartridge. The V3 is 10mm shorter than the OneUp V2, with enhanced seals, low-friction IGUS bushings, and a custom SKF wiper seal for extended service intervals. The dropper retails for £290, and you can pay an extra £45 for a remote.
