Designed for the chunkiest trails, the Capra is YT Industries' enduro bike and the bike pictured here has been loaded with a specification level for top-enduro performance.
However, this Capra doesn't fly far from the roost as it's available in both full 29-inch and mixed wheel sizes with the former getting 165mm of rear wheel travel and the latter, 170mm of squish. But, as the highest-end Capra we've seen to date, it gets YT's top-of-the-line Ultra Modulus carbon fibre which sheds a bit of weight against its standard carbon without sacrificing strength.
What makes this new top-end Capra exciting is that it dons Swedish gold or Ohlins suspension, to you and me. Up front, handling 170mm of suspension is Ohlin's RXF38 M.2 fork that's complete with a triple chamber air spring and TTX18 damper. The rear suspension is damped thanks to a TTX22M.2 coil shock with size-specific spring rates and two different shock tunes for sizes S to L and XL to XXL.
The Capra Core 5 rolls on a set of Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy rims with Industry Nine 1/1 hubs which get front and rear tuning profiles and they're wrapped with Double Down cased Maxxis tyres, featuring an Assegai at the front and a DHR II at the rear.
SRAM handles shifting and braking duties with an XO Eagle Transmission drivetrain and Code RSC brakes that are complete with HS2 rotors. Wrapping up the build is a Renthal cockpit, ODI grips, an SDG saddle, and YT's own Postman dropper post.
If you reckon YT Industries' new Ohlins-clad enduro bike deserves a spot in your fleet, the Capra Core 5 will set you back £6,000.
