Fulcrum committed to MTB with the Metal Carbon and Metal ALX wheelsets
Earlier in the year, Fulcrum made its return to MTB with its cross-country Red Zone Carbon wheels and now the brand has boosting its mountain bike offering with the Metal Carbon and Metal ALX wheelsets. We're told that these wheels can be run on lightweight e-mountain bikes, and Fulcrum has used its own special carbon fibre in a bid to balance vertical compliance with lateral stiffness.
There's an alloy model on offer too that gets a 30mm internal width and a welded construction. However, the rims get a go through a CNC machine to shave off any excess weight and unnecessary material.
Both wheelsets run cup and cone bearings for their ease of service as well as 24 spokes up front and 28 at the rear.

We built our dream bike using online sales
We've all done it: scoured the internet in an attempt to build our dream mountain bikes and totted up the prices to see how well we've done. But it's no secret that there are some incredible sales gracing nearly every retailer's website. So we've taken up the ultimate online window shopping challenge to see just how well we can build a bike using the best deals we can find. Turns out, we've done rather well.
Here's the full article - Build your dream bike with these deals.
Canyon's Spectral goes e-MTB with the Spectral:ONfly
Earlier this year, Canyon brought updates to the Spectral and announced its entry into the world of lightweight e-MTBs with the Neuron:ONfly, which gave us a good indication of what to expect. And that was the Spectral:ONfly, a bike that uses most of what was introduced on the new Spectral as well as TQ's HPR50 drive unit.
The new bike also benefits from the K.I.S tech that we saw on the regular Spectral as well as a host of the same geometry numbers. We've already spent some time on the bike, so catch the Canyon Spectral:ONfly CLLCTV first ride review for some first impressions.

We got up close and personal with Fergus Ryan's custom Privateer 161 Gen 2
Unveiled in the states a few months ago, Fergus Ryan's custom Privateer 161 Gen 2 is a bike I've always wanted a closer look at. Shown at Saddleback's house show, I finally got to see the bike in the flesh and a quick catch up with Ferg himself to have an in-depth chat about how 'Ferg's Flat White' came to be.
Using expertise from both Ride Wrap and Fat Creations, the bike is coated in a colour that refers to Fergus's love of coffee, and we reckon that it looks even better in person.
