Bargain supermarket Aldi has launched a cycling range in response to the cycling boom caused by the lockdown. Aldi's new range offers something for everyone should it be lights, clothing, turbo trainers, or even massagers for the post-ride cooldown.

New from Specialized are two new casings and a new compound for the well-received Butcher and Eliminator. The new tyres promise excellent traction and a more durable tyre, offering consistent grip over a longer period than before.

The new WTB Trail Boss is an excellent rear tyre with great levels of grip in all conditions, and it rolls very well on hardpack. It can feel a little bit sluggish on soft ground, though.

The Dakine Seeker 10L hydration pack is designed to withstand wet weather, although it's still good for the summer months. It’s comfortable and well compartmentalised, and waterproof bar a single pocket – though the straps need careful adjustment to unleash its true comfort.

The Invader from Kali Protectives is a lightweight, trail focused full-face helmet. It’s super light and airy, but it’s not the most comfortable thanks to scratchy feeling pads and isn't certified to the higher full-face testing standards, unlike pricier rivals.

The Spank Oozy 220 saddle is flat, wide and nicely supportive. The slightly flexy shell means it's very comfortable and it looks great, but the foam padding is vulnerable to damage and can peel away.

The Fuel V.2 from Smith Optics is an excellent performer, offering a super clear lens and a comfy fit while dealing with fog excellently. There’s not much wrong with them unless the colour offends you.

The Mavic XA Elite II shoe is an excellent benchmark for all trail shoes to follow. They’re comfortable, great to walk in, and easy to do up – although they’re quite bendy, and the colour scheme is a little questionable.

The Specialized Slaughter GRID 2Bliss Ready brings semi-slick tyre benefits to a very budget-friendly price. It rolls as well as you expect but, as with some other tyres in Specialized's lineup, it takes a bit of learning to master.
