Trash Free Trails and Trek team up for nationwide trail centre clear up
It's always hugely disappointing to get out riding and find that someone has managed to leave a load of rubbish in their wake; whether it's energy drinks, gel wrappers or inner tubes. That's why Trash Free Trails is teaming up with Trek to try and reduce litter on trails by 75% by 2025.

The non-profit organisation is teaming up with the bike brand to round up volunteers to help them at eight mountain bike and trail running centres across the UK from the 13th-21st April to tackle litter and improve awareness of the environmental issues facing anyone that loves the outdoors.
Longtime Trek athlete Tracy Moseley has got on board to encourage people to help, saying: "I am so happy to see the work that Trash Free Trails are doing to help make people aware and encourage them to remove litter from their favourite riding spots. I’m looking forward to heading to my local Spring Trail Clean Tour event and I know the TFT guys would be so grateful if you could too!"
As well as clearing and bagging up the rubbish they find, volunteers will also be logging what they find so that a special report can be compiled in order to help come up with solutions to the issues.
“There is currently very little data out there about the amounts and impacts of litter on our trails and wild places. The evidence collected in our Litter Report will help us begin to paint a true picture of the trail litter issue, which is vital if we are to identify solutions and help shape impactful policy” says Ferris.
