5 cool things from Camelbak, Granite Design, Crankbrothers and SRAM
We are all back in the office post-Eurobike and we don't want to see another pretzel or eat a garlic-laden sausage from the press room as long as we live, well at least until next year! Back at off-road.cc HQ the following kit from Camelbak, Granite Design, Crankbrothers and SRAM was all waiting for us....
Camelbak Solstice
This is the women's version of the popular Skyline pack, both of which feature a short, stumpy bag, keeping the weight down low. The Solstice (and the Skyline) has been redesigned this year to feature a different entry system for the bladder (from the top, not the back), a wider hip belt and also alterations to the front stash pocket which looks like it will be easier to carry a helmet now.
Camelback Repack
We have just seen this in the flesh, well ok, the material at Eurobike and whilst it may look a lot like the Palos bumbag it replaces, it features a new zipped pocket system at the front which looks like it will store all your added extra's in a more streamlined fashion. The compression straps are also more substantial this year, holding the bag closer to your body.
Granite Design Rock'n'Roll tool
Granite Design are a sister brand of Funn and the brands' range is quickly expanding. The new multitool includes the rachet and extension pieces, allen keys (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8,) and a T25 bit with an additional pocket for you to store a quick link. There is also a loop on the rear to allow integration with the Granite Design frame strap, the Rock Band. This has been in our hands for two days now and has already made life (read swapping saddles) a load easier!

SRAM NX Eagle
Cheap(er) Eagle has landed! Whilst £365 is still a serious investment, its the cheapest way you can get 12 speed so far. SRAM NX Eagle was introduced just last month and we've got a drivetrain in for test. We'll be putting in some long miles on this and see how it fares compared to our GX Eagle drivetrain. All the details on the new drivetrain are here.
