We like a good backpack here at off-road.cc, in fact we're not fussy, big or small, rucksack or bumbag, we like a functional hydration pack. We searched the halls of Eurobike to find the new gear ready for 2019's riding, here's our pick of the best bags on offer.

Evoc Neo 16L

The Neo uses Evoc's brand new Airshield back protection system, a back protector designed to work just as well whether it is hot or cold. The Airshield is flexible, breathable and positioned on the outside of the pack to help with the load distribution and maximum comfort. The Neo holds 16L of gear, a hydration bladder, a  rain cover, has loads of room for tools and a helmet, full face or half. 

Thule Rail 12 Pro pack

Thule introduced their new range of backpacks at Eurobike last year, this year they add the Rail to the lineup aimed at enduro rider with a more rigid back, larger waists harness and pockets and extra storage for helmets or chin bars. The Rail 12 Pro comes with a Koroyd back protector and there are other smaller packs in the range too. 

Amplifi E-Track 

You can pretty much get 'e-bike' everything nowadays and backpacks are no exception. The Amplify E-Track is one such pack with a specific pocket inside for a spare battery. The tall slim pocket is positioned in the middle of the pack to help with load distribution when you lads up with that weighty spare battery pack. Everything else, you'd expect in a pack is there too, hydration bladder, tool organisation and a rain cover. The pack comes in either a smaller 17L version or a large 23L option. 

ION Scrub 16

Another e-friendly pack, the ION Scrub 16 has a back protector and a battery pack compartment to house your spare power. It has a deep waist strap that extends in a v-shape up the rear of the back panel to further support weight set on the hips. It's in a funky colour too with knee pads to match if you like that sort of thing. 

Ortleib Packman Pro 2

Not the newest pack out there but maybe the most versatile, whether you are biking, hiking or just going casual. The Packman Pro 2 is a robust, waterproof roll-top pack that features a padded waist belt and a helmet holder too. It is pretty big but we reckon this might be a good option for a bike packing adventure where you need a pack for extra gear. 

Deuter Pulse bum bag

An enduro ready bum bag, this time from Deuter. Available in this blue or a pink/red colour and some other more muted colours the pack holds 1.5L of water with a load more room for tools and spares. It looks to have mega wide waist strap padding which we think is imperative to hold a pack like this steady on your back. 

New Camelbak range

Camelbak had loads on show this year, there is a new Kudu including the massive Kudu 30L pack! There is also a new Mule with the Low Rider bladder to keep weight in the bottom of the pack. The Mule also features a wrap-around waist belt which looks like it will add even more stability to the backpack.

There is another bumbag in the form of the Repack and also a brand new Line and Hawg packs. The Hawg is still an all-day pack but this time also given the Low Rider treatment and same tall, wrap around waistband as the Mule. The Repack is a new and improved bumbag with a wider waistband for extra stability and a Crux LR 1.5L bladder, we've just got one of those in for test so will let you know how we get on in the near future.
