Zara brings out a new men's MTB-apparel line
Zara, the Spanish clothing giant best known for its high-street fashion shops, has expanded its offerings to men’s mountain bike clothing and accessories. Collaborating with Spiuk, a cycling brand, the fashion retailer now stocks everything you might need for hitting the trails, from shoes to jerseys, pants and helmets. And yes, they do look quite fashionable, too…
- Gear of the Year - our favourite tech from 2022
- Best MTB pants - mountain bike trousers for all conditions
- Best MTB knee pads 2022 - tried and tested leg protection for demanding trails
This is not Zara’s first cycling collection, as earlier this year it brought out some more road-cycling-orientated clothes and accessories as part of its Athleticz outdoor range.
But unlike the previous few-piece stong cycling collection, the off-road range is pretty extensive, from technical and waterproof kit to casual clothing - although everything is only available in men’s fit. There is plenty of pockets and cycling-specific cuts visible, and the prices seem to be in an affordable range. Let’s have a look at a few of the products more closely.
Zara MTB Athleticz Technical Jersey
The Zara MTB Technical Jersey Cycling features a lightweight, adaptable technical fabric, high collar and pockets at the back. The sizes range from S to XL and this jersey comes in two colours, which match the technical t-shirt and trousers in the range. The Technical Jersey sets you off £60.
Zara MTB Athleticz Belt Bag
Bum bags have been a street fashion item for a while now, so the Zara Belt bag is perhaps no surprise in this range. This one is really a cycling product, though, and it has two features in one. It can be used as a bar or a traditional hip bag. It has two adjustable side pockets, and an adjustable waist strap and should be spray-proof. The bag retails for £50.
Spiuk MTB Athleticz helmet
The Spiuk collaboration is most visible in the Athleticz helmet and the Spiuk® trainers (which are essentially mtb shoes despite the renaming them trainers). This helmet is Spiuk’s Eleo and has a different design for this collection. It’s available in two adjustable sizes only, and has a removable peak. The price for the helmet is £109.
Zara Polartec Contrast fleece jacket
This fleece jacket is part of the more casual pieces in the range, complementing the sweatpants and shirt. The jacket has a high collar and a multifunctional front pocket in a contrast fabric, and elasticated trims. The jacket retails for £80.
