We've just taken delivery of a 2018 Rocky Mountain Altitude for test and review and after a lot of noise on this bike's release earlier in the year, it's safe to say we are pretty keen to get riding. As ever we've opted to test a bike at the more reasonable end of the price range with this Altitude Alloy 30, here Rachael talks us through the details in this 'First Look' video.
In summary, this 'aggressive trail' bike has 150mm of rear travel paired with 160mm at the front. The £2,800 Altitude Alloy 30 we have here gets the same travel as its more expensive brothers, sitting in the Rocky Mountain range just below the 165mm enduro bike, the Slayer. For 2018 the Altitude gets a redesigned frame, an updated linkage and finally, a change to the Ride9 geometry adjustment chips sees them migrating to the rocker link rather than positioned on the upper shock mount.
