PI30-END and PI25-TXC wheelsets
Here is what Pacenti have to say about these new wheels: "These wheelsets have been designed and handbuilt to perform on the trail or be competitive in Enduro races. We have taken all our experience and testing results and put together a wheelset that’s fast and tough. Our goal was to produce a modern MTB rim that can be both light and durable and, while these rims are not the easiest to build or manufacture, it is exactly why the ride so darn well.
"We hand-build all our wheelsets for the UK and European market here in the UK. Each wheelset benefits from the hands-on approach of our experienced builder who has been building high-quality performance wheels for trail riders to World Cup DH champions for decades."
Hubs: These are made for us by Bitex in Taiwan and are the best quality and most durable we have tested.
Rims: Made from high quality 6069 T9 alloy which improves the strength and durability over T6. It’s a more expensive process however the resulting rim easily justifies the extra cost. Both P130 and P125 rims feature 65% lower stresses at the spoke nipple interface created by utilising a convex spoke bed and drilling the rim to support it. Both rims feature a low profile which reduces the translational moment of inertia - in simple terms - the flywheel effect. This improves suspension response, acceleration, braking, and cornering.
Hookless: Our P130 and 125 rims have a deep and wide tyre well for easy mounting of tubeless tyres and are of a Hookless design. Hookless? As the bead lock design and tyre construction are actually the main factors in preventing the tyre from blowing off the rim and ‘burping’ and not the Hook; both our 130 and 125 rims have a secure bead lock and therefore don’t suffer these issues even at lower pressures. We predict that bead hooks will all but disappear in the future.
P-DENT bar and stem
We reviewed the P-Dent bar and stem system back in June last year and editor Jon really liked it - in fact he gave it a full five-star review! The P-Dent system uses a patented dimple in the back of the handlebar which partners with a specially designed stem to achieve a shorter lngth than any other system on the market that maintains a regular bar height.
With a 25mm stem, it takes about 15% less input to affect a 10° directional change at the front wheel when compared to a similar 40mm stem. Multiply that over a few hours of riding, and you're saving a lot of energy.
Jon had this to say about the system: “Pacenti's P-Dent bar and stem is a unique and highly effective way to sharpen up the steering response of a bike, thanks to a design that allows for a much shorter stem. It's really well made, comfortable to use and the only downside is the price.” Now that we are giving you a chance to get a set for free, there is absolutely no downside at all.
Stique
British brand Stique manufactures all its products in the UK, mostly in Cannock which provides them with ample testing grounds for all riding types. They started with tyre levers five years ago and now produce a small range of strong functional cycling tools all covered by a lifetime replacement warranty.
ML125 Multi Tool
A 14-function multi-tool built around three tyre levers held together with magnets. Made from engineering-grade, 'metal-replacement' plastic, these levers are three times stronger than market-leading levers and extremely difficult to break. Even so, the ML125 comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Weighing in at 160g and with a new, slimmer lever profile, the ML125 can be used to enter even the smallest gap between rim and bead on a thin road tyre, making light work of any required tyre-changing.
ML1 (bottom lever)
- Tyre lever
- Split chain-link holders
- £1 coin slot
- Spoke hook (flat and round)
- Dust-cap holder
ML2 (middle lever):
- Tyre lever
- £1 coin slot
- Spoke wrench (in two sizes)
- CR-type battery holder
- Die-cast, magnetic tool-bit holder
- 4mm Allen key (with rubber cap)
ML5 (top lever):
- Tyre lever
- Stainless-steel chain-breaker (with chain hook)
- 5mm Allen key
- Phillips #2 screwdriver
- Torx T25 wrench
- Bottle opener
Stique ML14 Multi Tool
Two tyre levers, held together with magnets, made from engineering-grade, 'metal-replacement' plastic. This special material means they are three times stronger than market-leading levers and, consequently, extremely difficult to break. Even so, the ML14 comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Weighing just 58g, these levers are large enough to allow a good grip and strong enough to deal with the toughest, tightest tyres. The ML14 is available to buy in either blue or grey, with one lever having a spare split link holder and both having space to put a pound coin in for emergencies.
