Video: Kriss Kyle Out of Season - Mouth-watering MTB creativity
Two years ago Scottish BMX legend, Kriss Kyle traded his little bike for a mountain bike in a bid to keep things fresh and fun. Out of Season shows off Kyle's 18 years of BMX experience translated to a big full squisher paired with Red Bull's flare for big-budget out-of-this-world trails. It's time to get that kettle on.

Kriss Kyle said, “It’s kind of crazy to think that I’ve gone from riding an MTB bike two years ago primarily to keep things fresh and fun, to now producing this amazing edit with Red Bull. It was really difficult taking tricks I could land easily on a BMX only to then do them over 100 times on the trail bike. It definitely felt like learning to ride all over again at some points.”
Kyle wanted to create an edit that was the mountain bike version of a kaleidoscope and that includes some of the features that the man himself designed for the video.
Anticipating that Kriss would put his body through a few more hits as he attempted to nail several ambitious tricks he had to take a completely different approach to physically prepare for the demands of muddy trails and of course, a mountain bike.
That preparation meant tailored gym sessions to increase his strength and explosiveness of his upper body as well as grueling running sessions with weighted vests to improve his aerobic capacity and leg stamina.
Despite suffering a broken rib after attempting the opening trick, Kriss committed to the project off the bike to return back to the set ahead of schedule.
