Ride fast and light with Tailfin's new 5L and 10L Mini Pannier bags
British designer and manufacturer, Tailfin challenges the contested views of pannier bags for modern-day bikepacking with the new 5L and 10L Mini Panniers bags. Built for fast and light adventures, these two models complement the existing Tailfin 22L Super Light Pannier and 22L Ultra Durable Panniers.
There are advantages to using pannier bags over other variations of bike bags. Panniers allow easy access to contents without undoing straps or completely removing a bag from the bike. For this reason, pannier packs have the ability to last much longer as they don't suffer from as much use as strapped bags do.
The new Tailfin 5L and 10L mini pannier bags have a minimalised profile to reduce the risk of getting caught or snagged on narrow trails. Both bags feature a single lever operated cam for a precise, rattle-free fit. Inside, there is a CNC-machined 6061-T6 alloy frame for durability and stiffness. Outside, two modular T-Hook compression straps provide two closure options - roll-top or side closure. The T-Hook compression straps can also be used across the front of the bag to attach additional luggage or provide extra load compression.
Both pannier bags are 100% waterproof with durable Hypalon laminate matched with a lighter weight, more flexible ripstop nylon in the upper portion of the bag. Both bags come with a 5-year warranty, including crash replacement. What's interesting about these new bags is that they don't use the traditional hook fixture which attaches to bike racks. Instead, these use a sturdy and durable clamp, the X-Clamp. The X-Clamp is an alloy constructed component designed for a rock-solid and seamless connection between the bag and rack, aiding in a rattle-free ride.
The Tailfin 5L Mini Pannier bag is £60 with dimensions of 270mm(H) x 155mm(W) x 67mm(D).
The Tailfin 10L Mini Pannier bag is £80 with dimensions of 270mm(H) x 190mm(W) x 87mm(D).
