Orbea updates Oiz MTB with updated Squidlock and new dropper
Demanding cross-country and endurance race events demand efficiency and capability, balancing suspension firmness when clinging with bump absorption on the descents. Recognizing that sprint and endurance mountain bikers need more from their bikes, the Oiz combines 120mm of front and rear suspension travel with efficient geometry.

The 2025 model year version keeps the same geometry numbers and frame structure, meaning a size medium Oiz frame with shock is only 1,740g. Orbea’s premium builds are under 10kg.
Geometry numbers aren’t ultra-progressive, like some other 120mm bikes which have edged down head angles close to 65-degrees.
Dropper post and suspension lockout combined
The Oiz front end sits at a 67-degree head angle, with reach measuring to 450mm on a size medium. Those geometry numbers put riders in a powerful climbing and confident descending position instead of too much bias to the descending body position – like some slacker 120mm ‘downcountry’ bikes.
The most significant updates for the 2025 model year Oiz, regard its handlebar ergonomics and suspension controls. For racers, handlebar-mounted suspension triggers and levers are crucial. There’s no time to remove a hand from the handlebars, reach forward to the fork, or down to the shock, fiddling with lockout switches or dials.
Orbea’s Squidlock remote consolidates the primary suspension and dropper functions into one. It features two levers, allowing riders to trigger the dropper post and control the three-position shock lockout functions with only a thumb movement. Brake integration is seamless, too, with Squidlock being compatible with Shimano and SRAM brake clamps, and several suspension systems.
The new MP10 dropper post is also integrated into the latest Oiz range, offering 100mm of infinitely adjustable travel at only 419g.
Single- and two-piece handlebar options
Racers who value a single-piece cockpit's slick appearance and slight weight saving will be thrilled with the Oiz’s new integrated handlebar/stem components.
There are two geometry options for the single-piece bar-stem combination. Both feature 760mm of width, with a 75- or 90mm stem length and a -20-degree negative rise. Riders who prefer a wider and more conventional cockpit can opt for 800mm handlebars, held in place with either a 40- or 50mm length traditionally clamping stem.
Advanced wheelsets make race bikes, and Orbea offers the 2025 model year Oiz with Oquo's MP30 LTD and MP30 Team wheels. Running DT Swiss's 36-tooth star ratchet system for internals, with the hubs allowing spoke heads to position closer to the axis of rotation, enhancing power transmission. The Oquo's MP30 LTD wheelset is 1,350g.
Bold colourways and customisation are a theme with Obrea, which allows its customers to customise frame colours with the MyO tool.
Primary colours for the latest Oiz are forest green to mint green, cobalt blue and carbon raw, or diamond carbon and burning red, all options for the OMX frame bikes, which use T1000 grade carbon fibre material.
If you choose an Oiz OMR frame moulded with T800 carbon, the colourway choices are diamond carbon matt and gloss, seaweed carbon to spaceship green, and ivory white with bumblebee yellow. Best of all, frame rear suspension linkages can be colour-customized, too
