Building on the success of last year's award-winning Fluid FS Aluminum Trail bike, the new carbon Fluid FS shares aspects of its aluminium sibling - including the seat stays which are made of aluminium on both models.
The Fluid FS Carbon is also somewhat akin to Norco's other trail mountain bike, the Optic, but the brand says the two bikes are distinctively different in their ride characteristics. The Optic is designed for confidence on high-speed descending over challenging terrain, whereas the Fluid FS Carbon claims to offer a more balanced and well-rounded performance with suspension and pedalling traits that ensure confidence and efficiency across various terrains.
Norco Fluid FS Carbon - Geometry
Norco's engineers decided to keep the successful geometry and 130mm rear suspension design that earned the Fluid FS Aluminum its praise, saying that riders can expect the same top-tier performance and thrilling rides.
Staying true to the Fluid FS's emphasis on performance and ride feel, the full Fluid Carbon lineup boasts custom shock tunes and rider-first parts specifications. Each model also comes wired into the Ride Aligned Bike Setup Guide, allowing precision tuning for different riders within minutes. Every frame size has also gone through strict strength testing protocols, providing riders with peace of mind regarding safety.
The Fluid FS Carbon comes in four frame sizes, each with unique geometries to cater to a wide range of riders. For reference, size M Fluid FS gets a 450mm reach and 626mm stack, and comes with a seat tube angle of 76.3-degrees. Going a size up, the reach gets 30mm longer, the stack 9mm higher and the seat tube angle slackens to 76.7. The overall wheelbase also increases from 1,205mm to 1,245mm.
There's tyre clearance for up to 2.6in mountain bike tyres, and all models run on 29-inch wheels.
