New Jurassic Gravel event is set to provide stunning views - part of Kinesis Gravelcross series on the 8th and 9th September

The Jurassic Gravel is a new event, just launched by the makers of the Kinesis Gravelcross series. Set to take on the stunning Dorset coastline, the 40 or 60km routes are sure to take in the best of the Jurassic Coast and give the legs and lungs a good workout! Dates are 8th-9th September 2018 and entries are open now.

This event organisers say this is a new event for them but this is an area they have been looking at for a while as it offers a great selection of tracks and trails that fit the gravel enthusiast perfectly.
Riders making a trip for the whole weekend can purchase a GPX and route map for £8 and pedal out for a 35km loop on Saturday (the Jurassic Tour). This route will offer a quiet coastal ride which will, no doubt be totally stunning, Rachael on the off-road team grew up in Dorset so can attest to this!
The main rides at 40K and 60k are on the Sunday, the Jurassic Coast is, put simply, one of the most incredible places to ride in the country! Huge hills, amazing views, coastline cliff trails beside a sparkling sea, and networks of sweeping forest trails make up a near perfect dose of open hill adventure riding for gravel bike ora mountain bike! Jurassic Gravel will take you on a tour of the very best of the hills and coasts around Corfe Castle and Studland Bay, giving you a superb day of riding, with a route designed by CX Sportive. The route is fully marked routes to keep you on course, with feed stations to keep you fueled, rider timing, finishers medals and a friendly team to motivate and assist you!
For those riding both days, or wanting to stay the night, there will be camping available to make it into a great family weekend.
Other event of interest - Ridgeway 100 return to the stones on August 4th
It's not too late to enter the Ridgeway100. Ride the worlds oldest road to Avebury and back. This is classic gravel with stunning views and this summers heat has baked it into a classic track.
Starting from Chilton, you head west to Avebury before heading back on a slightly different route, that again picks up on these high chalk tracks.
With great feed points and supports, this 107K challenge is tough but within most riders grasp.
