Canyon says efficiency is the highest currency in cross-country racing and it is on this hypothesis that they have designed the brand new and lighter Lux race bike. Two new models see the weigh dip under  2kg for frame and shock and new suspension layout means you can fit two water bottles inside the frame.

Lux CF SL 

The Lux is Canyon's full suspension XC race and marathon bike and it still is, just now it's lighter and can hold more water across all frame sizes. Canyon says they set out to build a sub 2000g (frame and shock) race bike which they have achieved, all whilst redesigning the suspension layout to boost traction up loose climbs and making it more capable over rough terrain. Claimed weight for the frame, shock AND hardware including headset, seat clamp and shock remove the weight is actually 2128g, light not under 2kg.

It's still a linkage driven single pivot but the shock has now moved, mounting to the top tube. It still gets 100/110mm of travel, it's still a 29er and, you guessed it, it's still carbon. New things include the fact that it is for single chainrings only, there is a neat flat mount rear brake and also a teeny weeny chain guide inserted in the main pivot. 

Lux CF SL 

The geometry is as expected for a cross-country bike with a 70 degreee head angle, a 74.5 degree effective seat angle and reach figures spanning 415mm on a small to 475mm on a large. There are a total of six options across the two frame models, the Lux CF SL and the Lux CF SLX, with the former featuring a 110mm travel fork and the latter getting 100mm up front. All bikes, barring the two base Lux CF SL models also come with dropper posts.
