Mondraker Sly e-MTB gets Bosch SX motor, 400Wh battery and alloy frame
Spanish brand Mondraker has been busy this year with a slew of new releases, including the carbon-framed Neat and Dune electric mountain bikes. Joining these two bikes is the Sly – a mid-powered lightweight e-MTB with an alloy frame. According to Mondraker, "the Sly is the perfect choice for riders looking to make the move to an e-Bike/Light e-MTB thanks to the most advanced Stealth Alloy full suspension e-Bike frame to date."

The new Sly takes much of its design direction from the Neat e-MTB – borrowing the same suspension travel, geometry and kinematics, and pairs these attributes with five sizes spanning S to XL. That translates into a 64.5-degree head angle, a 74-degree seat tube angle and 460mm reach on a medium. It also uses the same Bosch SX Performance motor as the Dune and Neat, which produces 55Nm of torque and 600W of power and a 400Wh integrated battery. There's also an optional 250wH range extender for those who enjoy going long.
The Sly can be had in one of two build options, R and RR, both configurations of which weigh in at under 21kg – this makes the SLY the lightest full suspension 150mm travel alloy e-MTB in Mondraker's range.
Component-wise, the Sly is outfitted in Mondraker's in-house brand OnOff, which has allowed the brand to bring greater value and a more appealing price point. These components include an 800mm aluminium handlebar and 30mm stem (this can be optioned in both flat or riser configuration) and CNC Forest Lock-on grips. Both the R and the RR come with OnOff' S6 range Pija dropper post with lengths varying from 140mm to 210mm depending on the frame (S: 140-115mm, M: 160- 135mm, ML: 180-155mm, L: 210- 185mm and XL: 210-185mm).
Both builds benefit from a Stealth Allo frame with seamless welds, an updated Zero Suspension system, 29-inch wheels with 150mm travel and a 160mm fork, four tuneable assist modes, tyre clearance for up 2.6-inch tyres, factory-fitted plastic and rubber frame protectors, a threaded bottom bracket and a UDH hanger.
Mondraker Sly RR
The Sly RR is available in black, grey or gold. It's built around a Fox suspension arrangement comprising a 160mm Fox 36 Performane Grip fork and Fox Float X Performance Evol rear shock. Also present is a SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain paired with SRAM's Code Bronze Stealth brakes. The bike rolls on Mavic E-CrossTrail SL wheels wrapped in Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR II tyres. The total system weight is 20.7kg.
Mondraker Sly R
Like the RR, the R also come in a choice of three colours: blue, grey and silver. The big difference comes in the list of components. The R gets a RockShox-themed suspension assembly with a 160mm Psylo Gold RC up front and Deluxe Select+ at the rear. It uses a slightly lower rent groupset but is still electronic – a SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS T-Type rear derailleur with GX chain and heavier cassette. The braking setup comes compliments of SRAM, the brand's DB8 Stealth stopper arrangement. Rolling stock is handled by Mavic E-CrossRide 29 rims complete with Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR II tyres. As expected, it weighs a bit heavier than the RR at 20.9kg.
Pricing is pegged at £5,299 for the Mondraker Sly R and £6,199 for the Mondraker Sly RR.
