Michelin revamps its Wild Enduro Racing Line tyres
Michelin's Wild Enduro Racing Line tyres have gained a solid reputation for providing very serious grip but aren't without their foibles; these being weight and rolling resistance. With that in mind, the brand has brought some huge updates to its latest Wild Enduro Racing Line tyres.

- Mountain bike tyre pressures – everything you need to know
Included in the updates is a brand-new carcass that features a dual-ply 55tpi construction. Michelin has chosen this build as it reckons that it reduces flex and improves the tyre's stability under cornering loads. The casing also comes with extra protection to boost its puncture resistance.
On top of that (literally) is its newest Magi-X rubber compound that's been tweaked to offer better grip in cold and wet conditions, from 3°C to 10°C. Michelin's new compound is also to credit for reduced rolling resistance, says the brand.
Both combined mean that the new tyres are 10 per cent lighter than before. So much so that Michelin has taken the tyres to the independent tester, Wheel Energy, to prove that the new tyres show real improvements in rolling resistance. According to the results, the rear tyre saves 30W and the front tyres 20W when compared to the previous Wild Enduro Racing Line tyres.
Of course, with updated rubber and carcass, the tyres come with new tread patterns. Dubbed MS, MH and Rear, the MS is designed for grip in mixed soft conditions while the MH is for mixed hard. Michelin claims that both of these tyres work well at either end of the bike. However, the Rear is rear-specific and it's built for riders who value as little rolling resistance as possible.
Also being introduced are new colours for the logos. Tyres are available with the classic blue and yellow colours that we already know but there's also a dark sidewall on offer.
As for sizes – well, it's a bit of a mix. The Wild Enduro MS Racing Line is available in 27.5 x 2.5 and 29 x 2.4 whereas the Wild Enduro MH Racing Line can be picked up in 27.5 x 2.5 and 29 x 2.5. The Wild Enduro Rear Racing Line is only available in 29 x 2.4in.
Prices start at £80 and go up to £90.
