Genesis unveils updated Fugio with aluminium frame

Genesis Bikes has revealed the 2023 lineup of its iconic Fugio gravel bikes. The highlight of the updated bike is a move from steel to an aluminium frame and the addition of some seriously chunky tyres.
- Best gravel tyres 2023 - fast and grippy rubber for all conditions
- Best gravel wheelsets 2023 - fast and furious off-road wheels
- Gravel bike geometry: everything you need to know
The steel-framed Genesis Fugio has long been the go-to choice for adventurers seeking a bike capable of conquering any terrain, but departing from traditional, Genesis has now built it with a 6061 aluminium frame, coupled with a carbon fork.
This should result in a lighter and stiffer package, offering a noticeably more agile front end.
As for the Fugio's geometry, it remains unchanged this time around, featuring a 70.5-degree heda angle with a 73-degree seat tube angle. There's then a 395mm reach on a large and a 1062mm wheelbase.
The eye-catching paint jobs have always been a selling point of the Fugio, and continue to be so for the updated models. The brand says each frame is meticulously hand-painted, ensuring that no two Fugios are alike.
The 2023 Fugio lineup comprises three models, with the Fugio 30 priced at £2,000, the Fugio 20 priced at £1,500 and the Fugio 10 available at £1,300.
All three models come equipped with Vittoria Mezcal 2.1 27.5” MTB tyres, and with the max clearances of 52mm for 650b or 40mm on a 700c rim, the updated Fugio should confidently tackle even the most rugged terrain. The bikes get 1x drivetrains, featuring SRAM Apex 1x11 on the Fugio 20 and 30, and Microshift XLE-10 on the Fugio 10.
These all-new alloy Fugios are now in stock on Genesis Bikes' official website.
