EVOC launches the Trail Pro - A new backpack with a higher level of back protection
Known for offering backpacks that come kitted with high levels of back protection, EVOC has added the Trail Pro to the line-up. Not only is it an all-new bag for the brand but it comes with a brand new back protector that's promised to be the lightest on the market while offering an even higher level of protection.
- Trail essentials - all the kit you need to take on a mountain bike ride
- The best hip packs you can buy for MTB and gravel - tried, tested and reviewed
- Buyer's guide to hydration packs for mountain biking
At the heart of the Trail Pro is EVOC's new LITESHEILD PLUS back protector. It conforms to EN 1621-2; level 2 and TÜV certification. It's also designed to provide more coverage than previous protectors, aiming to cover the whole back. The protector by its self is said to weigh in at just 168g.
It's flexible too, and if you damage it in a serious tumble EVOC will replace it free of charge with the Free Protector Crash Replacement guarantee.
The Trail Pro is also the first pack in EVOC's range to employ pre-formed 3D pads on the back which are designed to improve comfort and airflow by creating space between the bag and the rider's back.
It's not just comfort and protection at the forefront of EVOC's thinking. The brand has also designed the Trail Pro to offer the best load distribution possible around its centre of gravity. This has been done through the wide hip wings that come from the mesh pads at the lumbar of the pack. They're designed to hug the rider without restricting movement.
Another first that's graced on the Trail Pro is EVOC's use of the Brace Link on a protector backpack. This allows the rider to adjust the width of the shoulder straps to suit their own shoulder width.
As for pockets and features, there's a couple of zipped pockets on the hip belt on the 10L version. The 16 and 26 versions get a rain cover that can protect the hip pockets and there's also a mesh pocket for keys and other small items. There's a height-adjustable chest strap with a safety whistle, a clip for a hydration bladder's hose and a helmet carrier.
There are three models in the range, the 10 l, 18 l and 26 l each with respective capacities and each come in two lengths, S/M and L/XL to fit different torso lengths. They also come in two colour choices, either Black - Carbon Grey or Light Olive - Carbon Grey.
Prices start at £180 for the 10 l and go up to £220 for the largest 26 l version.
