5 cool things from Ride Concepts, Altura, Giro, Kali Protectives
This week we get a double helping of kit from Kali Protectives at off-road HQ, but we also go two's up on shoes from both Ride Concept's updated range along with some cross country clogs from Giro. That's not all as we've nabbed Restrap's new 17L bar bag, some waterproof shorts from Altura, and some low profile knee protection from Kali Protectives.

Restrap Carry Everything Bar Bag - Large
£120
Fresh in for testing is another bar bag from Restrap but this one comes with a whopping 17 litre capacity that's shared between a 14L double-ended dry bag and a bonus 3L food pouch. This pack doesn't use any hard fasteners or mounts to sit on your bar, rather it uses a few straps to keep a hard holster secured, which then wraps and straps around the packed drybag.
The food pouch is handily mounted onto the holster using a magnetic pin system, so if you don't need the bonus 3L, it can easily be removed. All in, this bag system is claimed to weigh in at 656g with the additional pouch.
Giro Sector MTB shoes
£230
Giro's Sector mountain bike shoes claim to be great for riding off the beaten track. They come with the brand's Synchwire upper with a carbon-composite plate that's covered with a dual-injected rubber outside that Giro promises won't delaminate.
Inside the shoes, there's a 3D moulded footbed that's treated with an Aegis anti-microbial treatment to enhance comfort, fit, and avoid nasty odors.
Kali Protectives Mission 2.0 knee pads
£60
The Mission 2.0 Knee Guards from Kali are designed to be durable, lightweight, and ergonomically designed, especially for climbing and descending. They're built with a four-way stretch fabric and an articulated construction. That's along with a mesh back to encourage airflow and there's an abrasion-resistant knee cap that's home to a 3D moulded knee puck.
Kali says that they're extra long to aid comfort and stability while silicone grippers on the calf and thigh keep them where they should be.

Ride Concepts Flume shoes
£150
Recently Ride Concepts gave the whole shoe range a mighty update and with that the brand launched two new shoes with the Flume being one of them. The Flume is the top end women's specific flat pedal shoe that combines off-road footwear tech with bike-specific performance. This shoe marks the beginning of the brand's collaboration with Cordura, using the material for its upper and it makes use of a Reverse Hex traction in the toe and heel for when hike-a-bike comes calling.
The Flume comes with Ride Concept's MAX GRIP rubber outside a TPU mudguard to protect against dirt and rubbing and there's a fully gusseted tongue to further keep muck at bay.

Kali Protectives Lunati 2.0
£80
Bringing this week's 5 cool things to a close is our second entry from Kali Protectives. The Lunati is an enduro-style helmet that offers deep coverage and a breakaway visor. There's also a neat Accessory Mounting System included in the box that'll allow easy placement for action cameras and lights.
With that, the Lunati gets anti-microbial padding, bug liners at certain vents, and locking sliders.
